Single Flare vs Double Flare?
Is double flare necessary for copper tube flares or is a single flare good enough?

Re: Single Flare vs Double Flare?
Single flare used to be the only one with the old R22, R12, R502 and R11. But some of these newer refrigerants operate at higher pressures and have a smaller molecular size - hence the need for a double flare. Of course the double flare used to be used for brake lines on cars due to higher pressures.
