Re: Defrost problem.
Check the setting on the controller:
what is the defrost stop temp?
Where is the avaporator sensor connected to the fins?
What controller do have?
Details, details, details. Pictures are even better.
The more we know - The more we can help.

Re: Defrost problem.
It seems that a temperature sensor is too close to the heaters.
Heat comes ON and the sensor opens, heater cools down and sensor closes.

Re: Defrost problem.
What's the end defrost temperature set-point. Put the bulb or probe (depending of type of thermostat you are using) far as possible of heaters on a fin location where is more difficult to defrost.
To make progress is never good enough, I want to do better and better and better

Re: Defrost problem.
I think I counld not explain the main problem. Everything works fine, defrost is work great. problem is when "superheater - resistans - heater - hot plate" (I don't know english meaning of this part. Part that warm and melt the ice ) this part start turning in its own right. Because of that electric wires that connect the that part disconnect.
Thanks for all posts...

Re: Defrost problem.
So the defrost heater element turns on by itself even when not on defrost mode?
And because of that you have had to disconnect the wires to it?

Re: Defrost problem.
So the defrost heater element turns on mean = spinning , rotate, circleing...

Re: Defrost problem.
I would hope a defrost heater element would be firmly attached to the evaporator and stationary!
spinning, circling and rotating is what your car wheels do as you drive down the road.
"turning" is a similar english word to spinning, circling, rotating, true; but "turning on" is really meaning "switching on" when taking about anything electrical.
Sorry to confuse with technically incorrect terminology.Last edited by paul_h; 12-08-2010 at 11:24 AM.

Re: Defrost problem.
hi
i think ur problem came from contactor thermal device set too low&auto
thats mean when the defrost starts the themal protector cuts off when it cools it cut in pls check the def contactor during defrost

Re: Defrost problem.
could be a pump down system where defrost contactor only pulls in when unit switches of on the lp switch, check and make sure your solenoid isnt passing!
