    Hi Rob.
Someone somewhere makes Steel fridge fittings.
But the nearest I have got in the past for use on ammonia plant.
Is to go to your nearest trusted Hydraulic Suppliers.
Armed with a pair of 1/2 " and 1/4" fittings to be used as templates.

Because they sell JIC fittings which work fine as male to Fridge female.
The flare angle is slightly sharper and the thread turns are less.
    I know that a 1/4" flare is called a 3/16" JIC.
so 1/2 " would be known as a slightly bigger imperial size.

Check it out I have been using the for 25 - 30yrs.

    With no Issues.

J&E Hall used to have some Flare fittings but most were Wade fittings.
If you do find where to get actual flare fittings please share as they would be a bonus to anyone's tool kit.

Cheers Griz, I forgot about hydraulic fittings, I have
even used them in the past. Stainless would be fantastic
    but steel would be aceptable.

    Regards

    Rob
