R-value conversion
Trying to convert the following from Europe into an R-value which is comparable to American figures:
R = [(0.004 mq * C°) / W]
Any idea how to go about it?

Try breaking your formula down into their own units and convert each entity individually via dimensional analysis or you may want to refer to various handbooks.

Hi,
to convert to American is as follows:
From To Divide by
W/ (m) (k) (Btu) (in.)/ (hr) (ft2) (R) 0.1442285
The 2 after ft is squared, must set my keyboard up properly.
Hope this helps Regards. Andy.

W/m-K is a thermal conductance unit of measurement.
R values are thermal resistance, and in IP units are typically °F-hr/Btu. Converting from °C/W to °F-hr/Btu:
1 Watt = 3.412 Btu/hr
1C° = 1.8F°
conversion factor: 1.8/3.412 = 0.5275Prof Sporlan
