Vector 1800mt alarm 21 technician reset required
Anybody know how to carry out a technician reset on a vector 1800mt?
Showing alarm 21, coolant overheat!
Tried clearing alarm and switching off and on again, any suggestions? Cheers guys!

you need to use TruTech to clear the alarm.

Clearing the inactive alarms will not remove the Technician reset alarm, it is designed to stop drivers clearing alarms and then destroying engines.

It's my belief that you cannot clear this without trutech,that's until the pedal pushers get the software! It's activated by me after an engine rebuild.

It can be cleared via keypad, but it's better if customer will see you delete it with pc.
Engine oil 3 times will give the same alarm. For engine protection you should not give
out this info publicly.

nice, doesn't help when the water pump fails, dumps it coolant and keeps on running.
is the latest software still 05.09.00 ?

The thing is, after heating up several times, the water sensor can become defective,
then the unit will only give check at next service intrval alarm, not shutting down the unit.
Believe me i have seen cylinder heads cracked in three places due to overheat.
That's why drivers should not know how to clear alarm.
