Wireless temperature monitoring?
Hi All,
I have a client who has asked for a quote for wireless temperature monitoring for 30 walk-in-Cold rooms spread out at different floor levels and locations in a large hotel.
The wireless system has to be simple to meet 2 criteria -
1, Wireless remote monitoring of 30 x cold room temperatures.
2, Remote alarm notification in case of refrigeration system failure.
I have searched the internet and the ones I have come across seem all singing and dancing with bells and whistles on them.
Just want something simple that you place the monitor/transmitter in the cold room which then wirelessly transmits the information to the receiver/base station located at the Health and Hygiene Managers computer.
Any recommendations or experiences with wireless remote temperature monitoring systems would be welcome.
best regards
buddy

Re: Wireless temperature monitoring?
Hi buddy
I have seen a Trend system using wireless sensors for around 30 sensors per floor and 2 receivers in a high rise office block. There is a photo of the sensor in my photos album. Not to sure about reception going through floors and coolroom panels. The Trend controller can do the alarms (sms) too but not sure on price.

Laying communication cables is one time job.
Replacing batteries is a pain.

Al, a case where your colleague/friend can prove now what he's worth.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Re: Wireless temperature monitoring?
Hi Buddy,
Try googling "monika". It's a system used by the Iceland stores, I've seen it used over several floors, it's flexable and run with a standard pc.

Rnine.
