Desperate to work
I live in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire and I'm now coming to the end of my evening class City & Guilds 1511 refrigeration course, I'm going on to do a tech cert in September but desperately want to complete the NVQ level II.
Obviously I can't do this unless I work within the industry so I'm seeking employment within refrigeration/air conditioning maintenence/Installation.
I currently work for my local Water company as a full time permanent job, it's a great job but it's not refrigeration!
I do have a fair amount of engineering experience as previous to my current career I've worked semi-skilled for over ten years on small to (very) large projects on Oil refinerys and power stations across the north of the country.
Apart from wanting to make my wife and two kids proud of me I have a great interest in the industry and would love to have the chance to increase my knowledge and demonstrate the skills i have aquired whilst giving 100% towards my employment.
If there is any companies within 20 miles of me that are looking for someone more than eager to work and learn then please don't hesitate to contact me on 07746 920 951
Thank you.Last edited by nomiracle; 28-04-2005 at 12:34 AM.

Re: Desperate to work
I wish you well on your quest
Sadly whilst we are in desparate need of additional locally/west of London based engineers we just fall out of the 20 mile radius.....
Cheers
Richard

Re: Desperate to work
We used a company called EJM Engineered Systems from that neck of the woods. Try them if you can source their number.
Ahh, see http://www.ejmrefrigeration.co.uk/index.htm, I hope it's as close as I think. Speak to Mr Morton or Mr Cheffings.
All the best.

Re: Desperate to work
We are based in lincoln and have an opening for an install/service engineer.
We do work nationally, so there would be a need for overtime working away, night work etc.
If you are interested, please reply and I will send you some contact details.

Re: Desperate to work
Sorry my mistake i see what you mean, he said he was desperate for engineers in London. But i think he means locally based? I don't have a problem staying away but i've got a wife and two young kids so working seven days a week would be a problem although five nights away wouldn't.

Re: Desperate to work
Thanks Bernard, yes it's your opinion but its inspiring!
I really do just want to make that first step and I'm going to keep trying until someone is interested the frustrations unbeliveable, I want more than anything to get into the industry to learn what i can't in a classroom.
Thanks again;
Mark.A gentle stream can split a mountain, given enough time
