7 nights in the UK - what do you do?
OK I have to go to the UK for work related stuff later this year (October) and at the end of it all have 7 days to myself. I don't give two hoots for big ticket tourist stuff like big ben or the palace, I want to see some good stuff (I will be back with the missus doing that stuff in another year and a half). I have a car and don't mind travelling (the entire UK is smaller than the state of Australia I live in), so what do you guys recommend??
The quirky?
The offbeat?
The underbelly of the UK??
Hit me fellas!
...and she said "give it to me you big fridgie"

Re: 7 nights in the UK - what do you do?
You could visit didcot with its coal fired power station, many roundabouts and cider drinking youths.
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

Re: 7 nights in the UK - what do you do?
If in York you could also go the viking village, then drive over those hills, go to Blackpool, up the tower, get some rock, and go for a donkey ride down the beach. PS do not forget the knotted hankey

Re: 7 nights in the UK - what do you do?
If you like hiking you could take a HF Holiday. I did one last summer in the western highlands, Glen coe area, did Ben Nevis and a bunch of other peaks. Good workout, good food, and good people.

It's impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious...
Don't ever underestimate the power of stupid people when they are in large groups.
Please, don't teach me how to be stupid....
