Re: question for reversing valve
well on the front of the 3x pipes starting from the left with the solenoid in front of you, you have [e] [s]for the most obvious then you have [c] on a sticker which is on the cylinder

Re: question for reversing valve
Just checked with the Danfoss fitters notes and it says that it is easy to identify which is which. But - it isn't clear in the text, however the diagrams help no end.

Re: question for reversing valve
Hi Mike,
This might help.
e = evaporator
s = suction
c = condenser
D on the underside is discharge.
Danfoss Sheet link attached. Hope this helps.

Re: question for reversing valve
Apologies to those that already know this but to make the valve easier to replace, cut it out away from the valve, transfer the pipes one by one, them braze back into unit. That way no need to try and get 3 pipes in at the same time.
Interesting article here on trobleshooting the valves.

Re: question for reversing valve
I used to write a column called "TECH Check" for the ACH&R News back in the mid 80's. How time flies.
Damn, I'm old... lol

Re: question for reversing valve
You have written for them recently though. One of your articles in more recent decades was about the importance of engineers understanding a little about how to control SHR.

We could improve on it - perhaps we should write another for them but submit it as a collaboration

Re: question for reversing valve
I had forgotten about that article... yep, old... lol
Note that I stopped short of the level of complexity at which I would need to call it SHR.
