    Hi Paul

The outdoor unit has a liquid line and a suction isolation valves (where the pipe work connects. connect your gauges to the bottom of the suction service valve, then close the liquid line. start the compressor via temp adjustment or plugging the contactor. The suction pressure will start to drop as the liquid is being held back by the isolation valve. Hold the contactor in untill u reach 3 psi.

then close the suction line..... job done.

careful with vrv's they need a complete reclaim you cant pump them down if they have extended pipe work, as extra charge is added to fill the pipe.

    hope that helps mate

becareful if the split has extended pipe work, the longer the pipework the more gas is needed. the unit can only hold so much

careful with vrv's they need a complete reclaim, you cant pump them down if they have extended pipe work, as extra charge is added to fill the pipe. Make sure all the valves in the multi-controllers are open, otherwise u will trap gas in the evporator heads
