    traulsen freezer

Hi,well its been about a year when I last posted on here.My family opened a resturaunt about a year ago.everythings going pretty good except for our three door traulsen freezer defrost timer is acting up again. This is the new one that I installed .I guess the points are getting pitted and not making good contact.I filed them and got it going again .I was just wondering can this be converted to an electronic timer.thanks for the help.

Of course it can. There are many electronic thermostats wit defrost timers built in them.
    For example:

    Or only defrost timer:

Question is what is readily available in your country.

It might also be worth while checking the electrical loading on the switchgear.

Perhaps introduce an extra relay or contactor to handle the load with the timer only switched the relays/contactors.

    Re: traulsen freezer

From memory I think the timeclock fitted to traulsen freezers is one of the paragon metal case timeclocks. Probably easier to stick with the same mechanical timer as fitting an electronic controller would not be a pretty site. Be best as Brian stated you could fit an external contactor for compressor / defrost ? load.
