Fine Brass Dust From Chiller
We are getting brass/copper, golden coloured dust from the process chiller.
The chiller water line is equipped with Pumps, Brazed plate heat exchanger, unions and ball valves.
Pumps are made out of stainless steel.
There is no brass in the heat exchanger.
Normally, if some loose dust sitting in the valves or unions comes out, it happens during the first week of installation.
Process is connected with copper lines and fittings after the chiller.

Re: Fine Brass Dust From Chiller
It looks like copper flakes and chips from where a hack saw was used to cut the pipe.
Can you take the particles to lab for analysis?
BTW, what fluid is being cooled and what are the operating conditions? If all else fails, ask for help.

Solid particles dont travel fast through a pipe with oil, being pushed by a gas!
