condensing unit installation

The compressor Rack is located at the second level of the building, the condensing unit is to be installed below the rack which is the ground floor.Is it advisable to install condensing unit to be installed below the compressor rack. Will it reduce system capacity considering it needs enough force for the liquid from the condenser to go up then down to the refrigerated cases?
Any idea how to compute the losses or the bad side with this kind of installation.

Not a good idea, the condenser should always be above the reciever. It allows it to drain properly and stops your reciever levels surging and your condenser to not log liquid. If you install your reciever down under the condensers then you will be alright, mind you the liquid line losses due to the height may cause your liquid to flash if your rise is too great back up to the evaps, in this case you need additional subcooling or a liquid pump.
