Electrical training
Hi , i was just wondering if any of you guys know of any good electrics courses that would be beneficial to me in the air conditioning game. iv worked for 2 different companies and neither of them have given me any electrical training apart from how to test is something live. because they say that it cant really be taught, you learn it over the years. i have learned a bit since being on my own with different jobs that i have come across but the problem is i work on my own 9 times out of ten and i cant learn myself. i went on a 1 day course last year but it was all about where electricity comes from and explaining about motors and capacitors but it never told me how to test for fauts on them. Iwish i could just pick up a detailed wiring diagram and be able to understand it but i fear im never going to learn because theres no one to show me. Iv looked around for courses but cant find any and if there are then they are 1 day courses which i doubt would give me the in depth training im looking for

Re: Electrical training
Hi Marc
Contact your local college that does refrig training and ask if they do 'Essential Electrics' training also. It's a 10 week course and is normally taken evenings only.

Re: Electrical training
hi frank, the course i was speaking about was called essential electrics but it was a 1 day course held at Airedale in leeds, would that be the same one? Although it might be more in depth considering that its 10 weeks.

Re: Electrical training
Hi Marc. Check this thread out. Triggerman was thinking about setting up a course for his techs. There is some good stuff for discussion there and you could bring over here if it prods some questions from you... or you could just keep that thread going, which makes the most sense to me.

Re: Electrical training
Marc,
obviously you boss must be a really good trainer to squeeze in three days of fault finding on panels and learning how to read electrical drawings and wiring up star delta starters - all in an hour or so!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by Tony; 06-10-2007 at 06:48 PM. Reason: Spelling correction
