    Electricity consumption porblem

Hello. I want to know the power consumption of a small refrigerator. the specification sheet says the power output is 320 watts. I know that the power input depends on the efficiency of the motor and other components, but being conservative, is there a factor that would let me know it?
    thanks

Well, how long is a piece of string?

    Seriously,

The compressor power consumption will roughly be 1/2 of the cooling duty.
But that wasn't your question now, was it?

The energy consumption has too many variables to estimate without all the design data.
    Run times?
    Defrost?
    Efficiency?
No of starts and stops / given time?

    And the list goes on.....

    Sorry

the efficiency of amost electrical divices lays around 0.8 so if you calculate it would be arround 400 watts

Is this a college question or something nearer to home.

The use of an ammeter would establish exactly what the power being used is.

Also, the specification for the product should detail power input as well as output.

Welkom Belgenman. Ik hoop dat je hier een beetje uwen draai zult vinden.

I think you misunderstood the question. If the power output on a domestic refrigerator states 400 W outputs (this is the refrigeration capacity expressed in Watt) then, you have to divide it wit +/- 2 to 2.5 to know the power input.
To measure it precise, follow the way Brian_UK described.
