Re: Earth Loop
Hi Bernard,
I would have thought that if you've got 16th quallifications, then you should be competent enough to use a Loop Impedance/PSC meter. Presume you want to test the earth impedance for a new installed circuit, for the paperwork, or just check the integrity of the earth.
You do a reading at the distribution incomer and then another at you equipment connection point.
I use a 'Robin' unit that doesn't cause MCBs to trip.

Re: Earth Loop
Hi
No its not a new installation,we carry out earth loop impedance tests yearly for a customer.
I was curious as we have peole with different quals as to what is the minimum qual required.I contacted the colledge today and asked there advise. They advised that a compotent person was qualified however it depends on what the customers insurers have stated as the minimum requirements.
I,ve also booked myself in for a 2391 course inspecting and testing.
