Electronic Controller Suggestions
Hi all,
Has anyone come across an electronic display controller that has two independant setpoints (with separate hysteresis) and will control two separate compressors on ONE cabinet probe, as well as providing defrost and fan control?
This is a large cabinet on a single phase supply that uses two separate independant refrigeration circuits, and at this time of year (winter in UK) runs happily on one circuit.
My thoughts are to set the two set points with ranges that overlap, such that the second unit will only switch on if the first unit cannot cope and the cabinet temperature reaches the second 'on' point, such as after a defrost.....thus saving energy.
If one 'combined' controller doesn't exist, then I propose to use two separate controllers....one Master (controlling defrost/fans etc) and one Slave with separate co-located probes, wiring the Slave's output for the second compressor through a relay controlled by the compressor output of the Master.
Has anyone done this or something similar?
Adrian.

Re: Electronic Controller Suggestions
Eliwell do such a controller as we use it for Blast and chill cycles which have completly different set points, not sure of the model but you could visit our panel builders web site www.frostechnic.com
Kind regards

Re: Electronic Controller Suggestions
Hi Nonickname,
Have you got the dixell controller model number?
I've talked to UK wholesaler (Thermofrost) but there does not appear to be one suitable with two separate setpoints combined with defrost and fan control.
The XR72C has two compressor outputs but only one set point / hysteresis.
Thanks, Adrian

Re: Electronic Controller Suggestions
IC261L and use the functions related to the parameter branch uS and the associated programmable digital outputs.

Re: Electronic Controller Suggestions
Try an IC100L multifunction unit from dixell. It will do a lot of different jobs dependant on how it is programed, water to air/water to water/heat pump/twin comp/defrost + fan control etc... or maybe a carel microchiller 2. same thing different name.
You need to register on the dixell site for the full pdf info.
However the 100l may be for the Iti. market only.Last edited by slingblade; 09-11-2006 at 12:41 PM.

Thanks Slingblade. I still can't find NoNicks Dixell IC261L info....so I'll register as you suggest.

Here's the direct link. http://www.dixell.com/page.php?sid=0...ageid=PRLIN009
The three bigger microprocessors are three versions of the IC261L
