    Energy Consumption

Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone may be able to confirm my workings out.
I am trying to work out the energy consumption per hour of a cellar cooling system using OHM'S law, the manufacturers data and current energy prices (£0.34kwh).
According to the manufacturer the complete system draws 9.7amp.
    Using OHM'S law 9.7amp x 230v = 2231w (2.231kw)
    2.231/3600 x 3600 = 2.231 x 0.34 = £0.75.
So by my working out the customer is paying on average £0.75 per hour to run their cellar cooler. I appreciate that the amp draw is dependent on the system charge being correct, clean coils etc, i'm just hoping to give them a ball park figure and can the then explain all the variables in play.

Does this sound about right or am I being a complete pleb.

    Many thanks in advance.

(For reference the system is a Marstair CX50+ CKC50 running R407c)

    Re: Energy Consumption

    Try this site. http://www.csgnetwork.com/energycostcalc.html
It calculates in dollars but you can pretend they are Pounds and get the same results.
The actual consumption will probably be less than that because it will not be under full load at all times and not run 24 hours a day.
The formula is not OHM'S law. https://www.fluke.com/en-us/learn/bl...at-is-ohms-law
