Airwell ducted unit help in Perth, Australia

    Hi All,

I’ve looked through the previous posts, trying to find information on my Airwell system.
I have some basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge but in no way a AC tech; system was working fine, then started having issues turning it on. After multiple attempts, power cycling, reseting via “mode” button I could get it to start, however it would either run a few minutes then cutout or keep cycling off /on. I tested the run capacitor and that was outside its tolerance 53uf on a 60 +- 5%, I have replaced it and it ran for 2 hours solid, no cutouts or cycling.

I next checked the compressor with an multimeter and it appears good, there is no short to ground either.

I’ve checked the thermistors inside and outside units.

Only think I notice is the compressor tank frosting up on the outside, not sure if normal?

Also trying it in fan only mode works when I can get it started and doesn’t turn off.

Any suggestions? Would any tech still know about these units? I’ve read there were 2 suggested guys in Perth, however Kev’s phone number is delisted, will try Dynamic Air tomorrow.

Hi, thanks for your reply; no soft starter, cleaned the return air filter, it’s actually quite thin filter material, not sure how it could block flow (wonder if the inside coil is dirty) Turned off at breaker for a day, then tonight tried to get it to respond and it would not power on. Turned off and on again at breaker, now unit has run 15mins without short cycling..
