    Superheat Technical Details

If the superheat is set to 10 deg F while the box temp is at 15 deg F, will the superheat increase or decrease or stay the same if the box setpoint is changed to -10 deg?

    Re: Superheat Technical Details

If you're talking about refrigerant superheat at the evaporator, then this value would be controlled by the Expansion valve. Essentially it would hold at one value and wouldn't normally be influenced by the box temperature. The evaporation temperature might vary up or down, depending on settings and load. But the superheat should remain the same as any variation in superheat, influenced by the load, should be corrected by the expansion valve by metering refrigerant flow in order to maintain a constant superheat value.
