Hello there,

I am having problems with my Panasonic Split AC CU-TZ25WKE.
I am getting a fan error H97 which means "Outdoor fan motor lock or feedback abnormal "

Investigated the fan, it rotates smoothly and is not blocked.
I have folowed the instructions in the troubleshooting manual

18.4.16 H97 (Outdoor Fan Motor – DC Motor Mechanism Locked)

First I have measured the resistance of the fan motor.
The manual says "Is the resitance normal" but does not give an info what resistance is normal.
I get 84 Ohms on all 3 coils, so at least no shorts within the motor.

I do not have an inverter check tool, so I could not check this.
Use an inverter check to check on the power transistor on board. Connect it to PCB’s CN-MRT2 port. Turn power ON and run the unit.

Can this cause the problem?
When I checked the rotation feedback of the fan by rotating it by hand I measured up to 12 Volts at CN-MRT1 on all 3 terminals. The manual says the result should be 5v and 0v.

I am wondering if the 12V which are dependign on the rpm I rotated the fan show a defective fan.

When I turn on the AC the fan does not even move at all, so it will not send any rotation info to the PCB but also does not startup at all.
