    Daikin VRV II Operation Prohibition

    Hi guys,

This forum's been really useful previously, so hoping someone will be able to help me out.

Got an old VRV II system comprising of a RXYQ16M7W1B, RXYQ12M7W1B and a RXYQ10M7W1B.

The RXYQ10M7W1B is the master - this unit has a failed compressor and we are having absolutely no luck finding spares (I know it's proper old).

I believe that the master can be placed in to operation prohibition mode, allowing the other two units to operate (albeit at a lesser overall system capacity.)

I've tried putting it in this mode already (mode 5sec, set x38, return x1, set x1, return x2, mode x1) but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Is there any additional configuration needed on any of the 3 units to work in this configuration, or am I chasing the impossible?

It annoys me that we'll likely need to replace the lot when the two larger units are in working order.

    Cheers,
    Ollie

You can't lock out the Master.
Change the Master to 1 of the other units which will make the 10hp unit a slave. Then binary the slave out.

Can you just code out the faulty compressor instead of the whole unit?

Brilliant - thought the way I was going about it seemed impossible.
Is that all in the DIP switch states or is there further config needed?

    Cheers,

Connect the indoor F1F2 circuit wiring to one of the ok units.
Next connect the other 2 units via Q1Q2 thereby making them slaves
Then do a full factory reset by pressing and holding the reset button (binary) for 20 seconds on the new Master. Once all indoor handshaking and config is finished you can isolate the failed compressor out by binary in the normal way

Master always needs to be largest capacity and closest to the indoors by the refrigerant flow. Is "F1-F2 INDOORS" connected to 10HP unit?

Why? Maybe topicstarter makes settings on slave2? 2-38/39/40 can only be changed on master instead of 2-00/19 can be changed on any damaged unit (ever master or slave 1/2).
