What size?
Hello all.
I've tried many suppliers and get different results.
Basically I need a new condensing unit, the chiller is 2.5 meters long and the remote unit is just under 10 meters.
I've been adviced that I need a 1.5, 2.0 or 2.5hp unit. What would you guys recommend.
Thanks!

Re: What size?
are you replacing the evaporator too?
also...
what temp do you want to run?
where will it be (for ambient temps)
how thick is the insulation (walls/ceiling/floor)
how much is the door opened?
what do you store inside it? - what temp is that when you put it in there?

Re: What size?
The temp for the chiller will run no lower than 2, floor is solid concrete and no insulation in the ceiling, it's a false dropped ceiling.
The temps in the shop average 15 and the fridge stocks drinks and fresh produce.
Will be replacing the evaporator too. The remote condenser will be outside and I'm in the UK.
Thanks

Re: What size?
.
You are measuring an evaporator by it's length?
If anybody answers your question they are a lot better than me.
It's like saying I have a car that is 5 mtrs long, what engin shall I put in it?
We don't really measure evaps and compressors that way. We measure them in
kW duty, (heat loads).
you have to know the size of the room the product inside, the amount of times the door will be opened and for how long.
Does the evaporator have 2, 3, 4 or more fan motors on it.
What temperature will you put the stock into the room what temperature do you want to keep the stock at and how long do you want the stock to stay in the room.
When you have all those you then calculate the heat loading and design accordingly.

Re: What size?
Hi
Unfortunately in some countries system are named with horse power.
(Condensers and Evaporators and compressors)
And later they say it is for above zero ( 0 c ) or under zero (-18 c ).
As we know in compressors Displacement Volumes is important.
And in Condensers and Evaporators surface area with fan Displacement Volumes and also volume of pipes and....

Re: What size?
Is it a fridge or cold room? If a fridge there might be a label giving make, model and serial number, if a cold room we need all dimensions (LXHXW), is there a basement beneath the cold room? Can you post some pics maybe?
