    Climaveneta AHU

    Good day Engineers,

I came across a climaveneta unit today with a fan that is vsd integrated. This my first time seeing this fan motor ..

Could anybody help to explain how to troubleshoot the motor using your multimeter?

    Thanks

    Attached is motor spec

This is an EC motor, mains powered and speed controlled by a 0-10v input.

Looking at photo 2, I can see that the 0-10v input is external (not generated by the fan itself)

Without specialist tools available from the manufacturer, there is little that you can do to test with a multimeter, as all you are looking at is the inputs to the VCD (inverter section).

If you can measure 240v (L + N) or 415v (L1 L2 L3) at the mains input terminals, then it is possible to put a couple of wire links in to test the electronics.

    Turn off mains power.

Carefully remove the 4 wires on the left (Green, Brown, White, Grey) and temporarily put them into a connector strip.

Next, put a wire link between DC Out (24v) and DI (Digital In)

Next, put a wire link between 10V (DC Out) and E1 (Analog In)

    Turn mains power on

After a few seconds (self test function) the fan should run at 100% speed.

If the fan fails to run, there is a possibility that the electronics are damaged. The electronics contain a fuse and surge protector which could have failed.

If you only measure 2 phases on a 3 phase motor, then the motor will not operate
