York PC 843 Compressor oil pressure problem
Hi,
Someone help me to solve the compressor oil pressure problem
Compressor - York PC843, York Chiller model - YAEP99
Compressor was recently overhauled (Removed for O/H as it was tripping on low oil pr). Almost all the parts were replaced - Pistons & rings, Bearings, Suction & discharge rebuilt kit, Oil pump, unloading solenoid valves, oil etc., Condition of Cyl. sleeves and Connect rods are good. Suction screen is cleaned
On starting, oil pressure is fluctuating for 2 / 3 min from 40-20psi, further going down to 10-15psi and compressor is tripping. on doubt pressure transmitter was also changed but the problem remained same. It is also found that compressor is not going into loading mode, solenoid valves are continuously energized after starting till it trips. Compressor running for max 2-3min before it trips on oil pr.
SP - 55psi, DP - 240, oil temp- 115F, current-35%
Measured the pressure at oil pump outlet is around 145psi (with manifold guage)
1- why solenoid valves are not getting off to load the compressor?
2- Why oil pr in display is fluctuating
Could it be a problem with the processor board or some thing else?
Kindly suggest
regards

Re: York PC 843 Compressor oil pressure problem
Hi,
Check few items below,
1. Is your oil correct PN / Viscosity ?
2. Have you check the oil pressure relief valve located at main bearing-Motor End ?
3. What is the Oil pressure if all un-loader not activated?
It look like your oil is leaks to sump.
Regards
Iwan

Re: York PC 843 Compressor oil pressure problem
Hi Sir,
Thanks for reply.
- Oil is correctly maintained, using York-E as per original
- How to check the oil pr relief valve, do we need to dismantle the compressor again? now the system is under full charge. I want to confirm all the probable checks before release the gas. now planning to change processor board & relay board first, Kindly advise how to check and adjust the pr relief valve
- I guess you are asking us to check with all solenoid coils are de-energized, right?, will let you know after check
thanks for the support
