    Coil Capacity - R-448A Refrigerant

    Hi All,

Does anyone have a practical experience with the change in performance in the Evaporator and Condenser with R-448A refrigerant compared to R-404A?

Coil selection shows significantly higher capacity for the evaporator and lower capacity for condenser in the same conditions, comparing R-448A with R-404A.

Hi, I have some with R-449A, which is similar to R-448A.

Coil selection shows significantly higher capacity for the evaporator and lower capacity for condenser in the same conditions, comparing R-448A with R-404A.
    Which software are you using?
I believe your software is set up to select the coil according to DEW temp.

By using DEW temp., the evaporator has a "larger capacity" where condenser has a "smaller capacity".

The other way to looking at it is to select the coil according to MEAN (MID) temp. criteria.
If you select the evaporator according to MEAN temperature, you get less capacity compared to R-404A.

Check the datasheet at page 4:
