    humidity



    why doesn't defrost cycle take into account the humidity? i have a Carrier. it runs defrost after a certain number of minutes.

    The defrost heaters are purely for getting rid of the frost/ice build up on the evaporator.
    Humidity is a function of the amount of water vapour within the air surrounding the evaporator.

    Defrost cycle is not needed when humidity is low. Why is this not taken into account?
