dual run v two single capacitors
I need to replace a 55/15 dual capacitor with two single capacitors. The single 55 MFD will go to the compressor and the 15 capacitor will go to the fan. The remaining 3 wires will go to the common terminals. I was wondering on which cap should the 3 wires go?

Can you post a picture or a drawing of the dual capacitor wired?

Re: dual run v two single capacitors
The original dual cap had one black wire connected to the herm. One black wire connected to the fan, and 3 blue wires connected to the common terminal.

Re: dual run v two single capacitors
I was going to buy a 55/5 dual cap and a 15 run cap and connect the compressor to the dual cap and the fan to 15 MFD single cap. I am just not sure where to connect the remaining 3 blue wires. The reason I am not just buying 55/15 dual cap is that it sells for $70 plus while I can get the other two caps for $10 apiece.

Re: dual run v two single capacitors
One side of the 55uf is herm/compressor, the other side is common. One side of the 15uf is fan, the other side is common. Basically you need to link the two commons together (which is how the inside of the 55/5 is made) and then also join the blue common wires to the linked terminals.
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)
