Bitzer Semi Hermetic Gaskets
Due to a leak on the discharge side of a Bitzer 4HP semi hermetic reciprocating compressor I am planning to disassemble and replace the damaged parts.
The only query comes to my mind during this process is " to oil the gaskets or not to oil the gaskets " during the rebuild.
Suggestion will be appreciated.

Re: Bitzer Semi Hermetic Gaskets
.
Oiling them will not hurt them in anyway.
I always use a small amount of oil on both sides
of the gasket.

Re: Bitzer Semi Hermetic Gaskets
Hi Guner
I have always used a graphite based grease, it stops the gasket from sticking so the next time you don't have to scrape it off they pretty much fall off. You only need a light smear on each side.
