not really a new thing, we replaced a few of them... pls give some more info on what happened... usually they fail when the clutch is worn out and unit runs for a long time like that

Where are the cranks broken? Inside the compressor or where the clutch mounts?

also need some help with sl tci code 48 clutch good engine speeds ok alternator charging 400htz any ideas help

Check the rpm in the display. If the W wire has a high resistance it will give a false reading.

a maxima 1300 snapping cranks is a design flaw it happen every single one of them at some stage the end of the crank fatigues orver time and then snaps

design flaw my backside i seem to remember tk did exact same thing would suggest checking why did the cluth shoeslock up etc etc poor maintenance vibration belt tensions and so on

clive is right, on maxima's problems come mainly from the clutch... if it is to worn out , the little springs that hold it closed will fall of... at this moment the shoes fail to disengage from the compressor when the unit stops....
a few starts like this and the crank will surely snap....
also when tightening belts always use a measuring tool...
