I think you need at least 15 posts to be able to send pm's its an anti spam thing i believe.

It's a good thing too.
Many members don't like spammers signing up to PM them.

But what's with removing so many other features Webram?
Moderators seem to explain everything away as "anti spamming measure". It's coming across as a bit like the leaders from '1984', like a scapegoat for everything.

I know this forum has a lot of traffic and prominence, but never came across a forum that had to remove functionality to "defeat spammers", but I understand you'd get a lot. But my point is a forum this size needs the best people running the software side of things to avoid spammers.
Are you trying to work this out on your own or do you have forums specialists on the case (and if so are they any good )
You seem to be using vbulletin which doesn't have such a bad reputation and I thought wouldn't be so full of exploits.
