Do you mean a purger like you have in large industrial systems?

Or do you mean when vacuuming a system after repair or when starting for the first time after it is built?
Mostly found in Oxfordshire, UK :)

only purge that i have known you can do is on some of the industrial and transport, befrore our current legislation you are to leave the system of for at least 24 hrs then purge the valve at the highest point on transport on top of the condensor when useing 404 etc and bleed

juma there have been many posts detailing this operation usually under non condensables. And you can purge any system just not to atmosphere you need to purge into a large empty cylinder.
