nice ice machine problem

got a prob with this machine it makes ice but when the paddle stops it does not stop freezing,if i clear ice and start again watching ice start to form stop paddle s by hand it defrosts and drops ice should there be a magnet on paddle assy,but why does it work if i stop it by hand?

I would think that one of the paddles is damaged where they lock in or where the outside paddle stops against the paddle bar is damaged.

Have a look at the paddle motor shaft, check that the pin, some times a split pin,you might have damage to the plastic part of the paddle wheels, it might turn in water but when it hits the ice instead of swinging the motor to activate the switch it can spin on the shaft.
