Re: Rotary Compressors
Frigidaire made a rotary compressor and I think it was originally the late 40's in the States. It was called the Meter Miser and only had three moving parts.
It was made at the Frigidaire plant at Hendon as well up to the mid / late 60's.
Only scrapped one a few years ago maybe I should have kept it for old times sake installed loads in my time.
One last thought, they were also issued to us on a frame as vacuum pumps, I say issued in those days we had one per branch!

Re: Rotary Compressors
In reality, rotary compressors are of four general design configurations: (i) rolling piston, (ii) rotating vane, (iii) screw, and (iv) scroll.

Re: Rotary Compressors
Ok... I have almost all of the information I need for my presentation which is due in a few days..
The only thing I cant seem to find is a Moving diagram to show the class the operation.. I would like to add this to my power point presentation.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreaciated..
Thankyou

Re: Rotary Compressors
The 1933-1934 CA series of GE Monitor top refrigerators use a rotary compressor (vane type I believe) with methyl formate as refrigerant.
I'm trying desperately to find info on these. I have plenty of info on the SO2 Monitor tops (DR, CK and so on) but absolutely nothing on the methyl formate ones.
