bending pipe
not a trick question..
what's your proceedure for bending 1/2 hard straight lengths of copper?

Heating it with a torch to soften it in the region where you wanna bend it.
My experience is that if you don't do it, you can expect small cracks in the pipe or it may even crack completely.
Sometimes, I used a 5/8 bender for a 1/2 pipe.It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Hi Richard,
What Peter wrote, is the best way but I don't understand the part of using 5/8 bender.
1/2 bender will do the job just fine.
I use this method up to 11/8 pipes. For bending over 3/4, I use plastic pipe bender, it doe's the job after the copper was heated and left to cool.
