solid state relays
G'day all.
Just wondering what others opinions were on solid state relays.
I used to like these things, a couple of different relays for all small commercial compressors.
Have had a couple of instances where relays have failed and I have put solid state devices on them only to have the compressors fail in the following couple of months.(Yes they are wired correctly).Other times you put them on and you have no troubles.
Some people are of the opinion that solid state relays are only a temporary fix until you can get the correct relay.
I have also heard that solid states will also make a tired compressor operate even when the old relay wont.
Thanks.

Hi Temprite,

Supco make various sorts of these relays.
Some with overload and some without.
