Re: What kinf of pipes are used for coldstores ?
We mostly uses spiral duct for R404a and flexible duct (isolated of course) for R134a.
Till 2 kW you need a duct of 5 inch, from then 8 inch.
If used for freezer application, isolate the duct very good.
A good tip, you can use the inner side of the duct as a cable tray, fits all inside it and it's good looking.
Use a good quality duct-tape, especially with R404a because that gas becomes real cold. It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

generally copper exept for R717 with is steel. Either hard or soft drawn depending on size and application. Soft usually only availible up to 7/8". although over 5/8" is a pain to work. The pipe must be ref. grade which is clean, dehydrated and always capped both ends Standard sizes 1/8", 3/16",1/4",3/8",1/2",5/8",some 3/4",7/8",1 1/8", 1 3/8", 1 5/8".These are most commen, there is of course bigger but im not very familar with these, one of the industrial techs or larger A/C boys will know these I havent done multi storey work since 1989 Dont be put of by the sarcasam of others, bit of a fridgey trait.

Re: What kinf of pipes are used for coldstores ?
Appreciate ur help guys, especially coolkev. What about pipes used for ammonia and R22 ? Do u know good pipe manufacturers ? What good certificates are generally achieved to make the manufactured pipe approved from most coldstores ?

Re: What kinf of pipes are used for coldstores ?
ammonia will be steel
R22 is copper only
standards for refrigerant quailty pipe are
ASTM B 280 and EN 12735-1

best bet is to employ us as consultants to oversee the project.

Re: What kinf of pipes are used for coldstores ?
As yet we haven't handled any middle east projects as Fridgetech (although personally I have in my previous company in Saudi btw.)
However fridgetech has had experience in Nigeria for Mobil and Daewoo
Check the bottom of this page...
