Monoblock Ducted Air Con for the home

Does anyone know of any systems in the UK that would replace a ducted all in one system.

Someone on another forum has requested this information.

THey live in apartments so cannot have an outside unit, it needs to be self contained as they already have the ducting in place that can be adjusted if need be.

    Thanks.

there are many to choose from

    often called rooftop package units

    Lennox
    Carrier
    ActronAir

to name a few but, with it being a domestic maybe a smaller AHU with a heat pump AHU kit would do the job

    makers of these:

    Samsung
    Melco
    Daikin
    Sanyo
    Paul

Hitachi Utopia Centrifugal fan Inverter Heat Pump system - Ducted indoor & outdoor air sections. Smallest capacity is 7.1kW (3.1-8.0kW variable).

Check out their website for more info. Only snag with these units is that they are quite large e.g. 430 x 1250 x 1300mm (H x W x Depth). Also, compaired with conventional spits they are more expensive as well.
If in doubt read the instructions. If still in doubt follow them.

Most manufacurers start at 7kw up. General/Fujitsu brought out some convenient roof wart units last year in Spain with access hatches from below (9.6Kw+). Airwell had some models out about 7 years ago, but they do not send catalogues and are unhelpful in Spain (Hint! hint!). In the US you can get a unit similar to window rattlers but designed as a wider through wall unit mainly for motels, called package units (Lennox/Trane?) However, they do not sell them in Europe. Ciatesa had some 4.5kW split duct units in their 2005 catalogue: the Strato range, very well built but expensive.

    Thanks everyone.

The user has decided to go for ducted split system due to costs involved of a monoblock all in one system.
