Beko CDA543FW fault

Hope an expert can help? We moved into a new house in september and brought our old CDA543FW fridge freezer with us - it lives in the garage as the kitchen has integrated appliances. It has worked fine until 2 weeks ago when i noticed that the bread was "almost frozen" progressing to "soft & cold" this week.

After some standard testing of my own, I pulled the sensor from behind the light cover in the fridge, and the compressor fired up and began to operate, it seems that the colder the weather (and therefore garage temp) means that the stat is rendered useless as its too cold in there! Items in the fridge are cold (ambient temp of the room me thinks) but frozen foods are not freezing and are only as cold as the garage itself. We dont really use the fridge, just the freezer part.

Is there any way i can "trick" the sensor to believing that the temp is warmer than it really is? The sensor is tucked away up inside through a grommet in the top cover of the fridge freezer and i do think that being in the cold garage, a very cold garage is the problem. I have no room in the house for another fridge freezer!

When this first problem first surfaced in the 70's we (Electrolux) had kits we fitted ie a 15 wtt heater under the thermostat.Not possible now with the electronically controlled ones.
More exspensive fridges have heaters wired in the cabinets but generally a self defroster as opposed to
frost free won't work in ambients below 5 c or so.
Simple and temporary solution whilst cold spell continues is, take an old milk bottle and fill
it every morning with hand warm water,it will give the fridge something to do and will cycle on a couple of times so keeping the freezer just about OK.
Another solution is move to Spain
Finally, when global warming kicks in you won't have the problem anyway.

No offence , but in manual are stated ambient temperatures for what is your FF designed.
Solution: sell that FF and buy one which is designed to work in your conditions. Try specialised stores and be prepared to pay more than for ordinary household appliance.

The one thats marked as outdoor will operate down to 50f which is no different/similar to any UK one sold at the moment.Cold spells usually last a few days but the one at the moment looks set to stay a while so those with second fridges in garages will all be suffering to some extent especially if it is a fridge freezer,the freezer will liely thaw.
