    R-12 wholesale price

Anyone have a graph of R-12 wholesale price in the US that stretches from a decade ago to prediction of half decade from now?

It's a delicate balance of supply and demand. There's no question that supply is going down and as long as the supply depletion is faster than decrease in demand, price stays high.

But refrigeration equipment have a limited lifetime and as more and more R-12 vehicles and refrigeration systems are decommissioned, demand goes down along with R-12 value.

But demand still outstrips supply. I cant really comment on R12 refrigeration, regarding auto ac there are still plenty of guys in the US running old smokers that still use R12, I see about three a year here in the UK, very few are worth the time and cash to save.

    Dude
Where as R12 is supperior to its relevant drop in replacements, the cost of R12 will keep on rising as manufacture of the gas drops and ceases. So may be it might worth trying one of its cheaper long term replacements like R413a.
