thermostatic expansion valve
Hi
All , i want to know that what is the procedure to check the thermostatic expansion valve
i have uninstalled the valve from the unit and i want to check that will it work after installation or not.
(danfoss 407c 7.5 ton)

Measure the superheat at design conditions.

Why do you want to check it if you have un-installed it it needs to be installed to check correct operation, you could always take it apart and check the internals for a rough idea

If you already uninstalled TXV, than it is usually cheaper to install new one than install it back to found out that is faulty and then repeat all again. If you uninstalled it, change it!

physical examination of valve might be of help such as damaged bulb, kinked capillary , bellow inside for visual crack if any . Function test only after you start system & observe design parameters.

I have heard it both ways on both sides of the pond, but TEV seems to be far more commonly used outside of the USA.

Yes, thank you - TXV is rather the obsolete term.
