has anyone any ideas.i dont usually work on domestics,but a mate has an american fridge freezer and the ice maker has stopped working.are there infra red lights which stop it when you open the door,or is this a major problem.

On most there is a leaver of some type that turns the ice maker of when it full, they some times get jamed.
Is there any ice in the tray???
its also worth putting a meter on the water valve on the back as some get a build up of limescale and block the system.
