Escort Compressor Check Valve Explanation
Cheers, the rack has three compressors with common liquid. The escort compressor is seperated from the suction header via check valve. My escort covers the ice cream (14psig @ HP80) where the remaining compressors take care of frozen food @ an average of 25psig. Can anyone explain the check valve operation?? Thanks

Re: Escort Compressor Check Valve Explanation
the check valve is like an emergency crossover to the main suction group on the rack. If the suction pressure in your satellite (escort) suction group rises to the pressure of the main suction group refrigerant will be allowed through the check valve and the load will be taken up by the main suction group - it is also useful in coping with high load situations like defrost pulldown
