Intermolecular bonding
At what point, are the refrigerant molecules prevented from intermolecular bonding from forming?

Hi
Chmei Just food for thought really. as I'm a teacher I can't help from asking some provocking questions but if it offends you I shall cease and disist. No offence taken!
Marc I could accept that answer but it doesn't answer the process of why it happens at that state.

"you've got the goal posts tied to your ankle, stand still will you. That bloody ADD "!!
learn that in the elite tank something or other at the end of the sgt majors toe did ya WA WA
on second thought I take it back you flunk it is not the critical point it,s at the change of state! Basic stuff really!

Mr Shogun7, would it be fair comment to say that you don't teach English language?
Perhaps with nitrogen putting in the mouth, spraying pure liquid in the eyes (the best is R404a --> coldest and hurts more) , torches, tube benders for the fingers, tube expanders for the nose, ...
Shut up all and use your brains or what's left in the upper part of your head. You should be more mature as a refr. tech and especially your ages.
Shame all you.
Ever heard of forget and forgive???
It seems for some of us very difficult - let's better say impossible- to argue/discuss professional - which means for me and in the rzal world - pure technical without becoming personal, making personal comments/attaks!!!???
Sorry if it was misspelled or I didn't used the correct English (or should I say American) expressions.Last edited by Peter_1; 06-03-2004 at 07:49 AM.

Sorry Peter. You are right!
Could liquid Nitrogen be regarded as a weapon of mass re-frosting?Last edited by Karl Hofmann; 05-03-2004 at 05:32 PM.

hi peter.
good to see that you get angry once in a while,
you can not change the older folks.
some of the posters do it not because they want contribute to the refrigeration and AC but because they are BOARD!!
by the way, got your post card from italy, thants.
one thing puzzeld me, why do you think that there is someone at my address by the name of BONES??!!??

Anyway, which change of state, solid to liquid or liquid to vapour?
Take your pick dummy!

They are not fool I was origionaly talking in a state of superheat
Having fun don't you know!
If heat is coming into a substance during a phase change, then this energy is used to break the bonds between the molecules of the substance. The example I will use here is ice melting into water. After the molecular bonds in the ice are broken the molecules are at a higher potential energy state, however they are not on the average moving any faster, so their average kinetic energy remains the same, and thus, their Kelvin temperature remains the same.
Won't you be mine?

Thanks for the postcard peter! sounds like you had an very action packed holiday trying to stay on your feet! Not that i blame you, last time i was in snow i was slipping and sliding all over the shop hehe.

Bones what you say is correct ,but I'm talking a phase change. ice to water. Tell me this when you heat water to steam at saturation and the pressure is constant is the steam the same temperature as was the water at 212 degrees? The difference in what you say is apples and oranges
Roger

steam i would imagine would be hotter then 100'c (212'F), this is the temp that water starts to boil (enters another "phase change").
ice to water to steam, takes 3 phase changes
found a graph on google out of interest, you are right marc! not much you cant find through that engine lol. ever had a google whack?

My goody, Do I have to explain every thing to you? OK, They are prevented from bonding because in the superheated state they contain to much energy, don't you know they can only become bonded when they attain balance at the phase change. Thats called condensation!!!Nowe please reread chapter ! on thermodynamics or I'll have to keep you back and you won't graduate with your fellow dummies.
Roger the toger Ha, I like that moniker! Tanks merk!

Tell me Marc, If find yourself with a 3-phase tool, (I realize that you don't use tools anymore)but you only have single phase, 240 volt power. but in order to operate a 3-phase motor on single phase power, we need to make an artificial three phase system. How is this acomplished?Last edited by shogun7; 16-03-2004 at 01:21 AM.

Really, you guys should meet somewhere in the desert and beat the crap out of each other. Then you should have a beer together.
I am fairly sure that you cannot beat Marc with these questions, so I'll answer it, just to prove that a simple hobbyist is able to answer these questions:
To operate the 3-phase motor on a single phase you either must perform the phase shift with two capacitors, or use a (much better solution) inverter.

Easy boys I really like Marc! He's funny, easy to get to, has a sensitive button that can be pushed, Is predictttttable.
Oh Chemi you know nothing about me and my background so you could lose your money! but I tell you what, lets take a vote till Sunday night and vote "yes or no'
The question is should I leave this site never more to be a pain in the neck or should I stay and try to contribute and kid Marc from time to time. I Promice you if there are more Nos I will not come back. This is not fun anymore!

Hi Sho
Don't leave the forum just because you feel that marc is sometimes abrasive. marc has a lot to offer and I'm sure that you do too. Stand up for yourself man - marc obviously does and no one so far has said that they don't appreciate your input. After all this is a refrigeration forum and refrigeration is what we are all passionate about otherwise we wouldn't take the time to visit. On any forum various views are aired - it does'nt allways follow that these views are accepted by all.
Maybe we are just seeing a difference between how people take critisism, but if you believe in your views then stick by them. Lighten up - take it on thre chin and then give as good as you get! can't say it any plainer

PS listen I can't help it but really Marc your picture indicates to me that you may be eating too much of Moms pudding. Hay I'm just looking out for you because I don't want you to stroke out on us.
