Compresser electricals - HELP me please!!!

Okay, this is an aera that still really does confuse the hell out of me. Every unit i've had has all been new and had the stuff there and just plug and go!

The compressers in question are the Mitsubishi horizontal rotary compressor 1/4hp as seen here > http://www.benchtec.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=2412

I've searched high and low for info on the compresser with any possible wiring digram or spec finder with no luck. I've even spoken to Gray but thats not helped much!

My problem is i'm missing some of the electicals to wire them up etc etc.

I only got one 3UF cap so i ordered 2 new ones so i'm sorted there.

I got what looks to be one Refrigerator Overload.

I also have what looks like a PTC Relay, run/start cap. Thus im not sure on.

Here are the photos of what i have here, there are some codes on things so i will list them with the photos

^ They are my new 3Uf caps

    ^ SLEC BF118-JC

    ^ JUX-045F

    ^ MZJQ1C-1 100-N-

Now i have one broken MZJQ1C-1 100-N- part, it was broken durling delivery. However this is whats inside of her! Feel like ceramic that small round thing with the codes on

    ^ TDK H X0-101 7802

Walt kindly posted this in a past topic of mine here of which i'm trying to work out from that how i implerment it to what i have here

There was a sticker thankfully on the compresser and i've taken a photo just incase it's helps matters.

I presume the SCM on the sticker is the same as SCR

So i have 2 of these compresser but one lot of parts that i'm not even sure to how the plug up to the thing. So where do i start, what can i do? Can i build a new set of controls, ie relay, cap etc etc and wire it all up togther then to the compresser?

I am way out of my deepth here and really need some help. Have Googled for as much as i can to get any info on these compressers and mailed loads of people! No avial.

Hope i gave enough info and decent photos. Whom ever strikes gold and make me understand this will be getting some beers i promises.

    Pete

You have condensers, PTC starting devices and overcurrent/overheat relays. Figure 14 at page 28 is your scheme (right part RSCR PTC).

You should find PTC starting device according to data of compressor from any manufacturer of such device available to your place.

    Check this!

Also, condenser is available in any store with parts for white goods.

These PTC on your pictures are probably Chinese made and their data are not available on net.

Sorry but this is a very basic schematic of a PTC started /Cap assisted compressor.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

Only difference I see is a potential relay on the schematic where you have a PTC relay.
The round thing in it is a small heating element which changes in resistance when a current is drawn through it.

Still am confused to how to do this!!

Would some one be willing to grab me the parts, wire it up (i'll send you my caps as well) and i'll pay for the parts and your time!

I duno where to begin but thank you! I think i get it now looking at varying drawings and these!

Just to conferm, condenser you are refering to the fan?

One thing im still confused of, where does the 3UF cap fit in?

I mailed the company about the compressor protection asking where i can get 2 from.

Still need to find 2 new PTC devices as i have one which i think might be broken so need to get 2 new ones.

Both compresser are going in the same system so need 2 of each part but still having no luck in finding them!

No, fan is connected at thermostat!
By condenser, I here mean 3uf capacitor.
Here we say "kondenzator" which is simmilar as condenser and therefore my use of this therm.

    Quote from Wikipedia:
Capacitor, formerly called a condenser, an electrical device that can store energy.

I gave you, in my answers, some data to work with in order to get replacement parts. Please, read carefully links I posted, and if you don't know how to use them, ask here in details.

For motor protection you can use any with same operating temperature range and tolerance (in your case that is 97°C range and 7°C tolerance). Also, you need to take care about rated amperage for, but for that small compressor, any for domestic refrigeration could probably be used.

For starting PTC device you should calculate data required on page 4 of manual I already linked, or prepare required data, and ask for help at contact telephones at that page.

Or, you could use this combined PTC starter and protection.
For details contact number is on last page.

Try a refrigeration or air conditioning wholesaler.

You should also develop simple skill "how to find representatives and distributors" by searching contacts at manufacturers web pages.

Best ring the suppliers then, & talk to someone technical there. They should be able to help you out with the parts.

are you a fridge engineer or not? This is pretty basic stuff - you will be able to buy a set of electrics for this compressor from any decent wholesaler - and the actual wiring is one of the first things you learn!!
Hope you never come across a burnt out panel in a 20year old supermarket at 3 in the morning with no wiring diagrams!!!

so if you are not a fridge engineer, why are you working on a fridge compressor that you have no knowledge of?? As the old saying goes "A LITTLE NOWLEDGE IS DANGEROUS"

If you follow the threads relating to the type of product that PJ is trying to make then you would perhaps understand why he, like a lot of others, are working with these small compressors.

Also; no, this site is for anyone who is interested in the subject or has a related question to ask.

You seem to be coming in a bit strong for your first two posts on this forum, should we be standing in awe of you or shall we wait until we've been introduced ?

Just a thought, is it worth going to your local fridge recycling centre to see if you can grab some parts off of the old units ?

    Perhaps get a selection ?

edit: Thanks NH3, you should have seen the draft version

You can get universal kits I believe so maybe that is the way to go.

A visit to the store would beat an email I suspect, the guys there do not always know a lot more than the guy buying from them.
