Drain Hose Valve?
I am supporting a wall mount air conditioner in Japan and an HVAC tech there suggested we add something he called an "Air Cut Bulb" to the end of the condensation removal drain line which lets water drain out but then closes to prevent humid air from being sucked back into the system.
Does anyone know what this device might be called in the U.S.? I can't find anything that seems to be what they are suggesting.
Thanks!

Re: Drain Hose Valve?
i'm guessing that as it was described as a valve, and had the facility to close after it was a Hepv0 (to those in the UK a fanny trap, just the not the US version of fanny)

Re: Drain Hose Valve?
In transport HVACR, we use what our US colleagues call " kazoo traps " - those are the pinched hose end -fittings we install on bottom of evap drain hoses, outside the reefer box or bus as case may be.
Of course we are using a soft, pliable drain hose.
hope it's of some help to you.

Come across those Frank on an Ambirad heater system.
The fan suction was such that those device were being sucked inside out and sounded most painful.Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK
