Need a new vacuum pump

After 28 years of excellent service, my Gould vacuum pump have started to leak from the mechanical seal.

Nobody at Goulds pumps in the US of A can help, so, I'm looking for a new one.
I was offered the Spanish Telstar.

Doe's any one have any experience with it?

Wouldn't it be easier to just replace the seal?

I'm sure it will be a standard one, available from any good mechanical wholesaler.

As it's only 28 years old, it must be worth repairing it...

How am I going to vacuum when my pump is in pieces???????????

same feeling here Viking, mine is about the same age,but have a small junk pump (125€)aside when my baby needs being repaired.

Why,

its all in the sound you now, recognize when she's done whit her job. never wrong.

This is going to be the new pump, will give me time to carefully repair the old one.
