    Re: Fault codes

    Nigel,

If you send me a pm with a fax number i can fax you a list but i have never seen p5 or p6 on hitachi

code 05 is normally a transmission fault with a problem with the power poss incorrect phase problems
code 06 is a voltage problem on the outdoor unit

Hitachi Technical is on 01628 585393

    Regards

    Re: Fault codes

Nigel, I suspect your unit is a RAS- HVRNE or HRNE.
P6 is a protection code (frost protection),suggesting shortage of refrigerant, blockage etc.
P5 is also a protection code (high discharge temperature) which also suggests shortage of refrigerant or a blockage etc.
Is there a similar adjacent unit? possibly crossed comms cable.
Also if there are adjacent systems and a common H-Link comms is used then the blue dip switches on the relevent I/U O/Us need to be set the same (this is the cycle address or system address).
    Good luck
