Well, the drier exploded at 3 in the morning, i thought someone is trying to kill me......Quote:
What, you didn't fix it??????
It runs on R-290 which I cant get here, its 6 years old and its too small anyway,oh, and also the electronic control relay was going on and off until the compressor was tripping on high temp.
Might as well get a new one.
Went sea fishing this evening, just off the local promenade when one of the local wild seals came around for her supper.
So we, the fishermen, were catching mackerel and passing it to the onlookers to feed to the seal.
She's quite a friendly creature, I even ended up hand feeding her by handing over the sea wall. A bit like a well trained black labrador, albeit a lot bigger, she just rose gently up out of the water to take the fish out of my hand. No snapping, just a slow close of the mouth over the fish and then a slide back under the surface.
Amazing feeling, I'm quite laid back right now.... :)
replaced a shaft seal in a 100hp Grasso, then fixed a moisture prob in a zanotti on a transit van ,i love it!
Flying to Paris to discuss new VRF certification programme with Eurovent.
Yesterday evening swapped a condesning unit over for a friend of mine. 20 feet off the ground
hanging on by one hand working with the other. Made me appreciate how easy my life really is.
:-)
Started work at 11am finished at 15.30 got paid from 8am-17.00....sat in the van most of it, had a Mc donalds...not bad! 11days left of this bull!
Nice one Brian. Babbacombe?
Been in Bristol last few days looking for a leak on VRF. eventually traced to LEV within a ducted unit.
Busy day got called to a job 2 x ac units not heating checked and discovered some lucky bstard had pinched the outdoor units copper price must be getting up there Hmmmmm
Unfortunately, I had to put my avatar (Sydney, the 14 year old Shepherd, collie, malamute and wolf) to sleep on Wed night. Had a bad back and she barked too hard at the pizza delivery man, probably cracked a vertebrae. Never heard a dog in so much pain.
Just found out they have given the go-ahead for me to waste 5 days baby sitting the olympic canoe park. Gotta be there 9-6 for the whole 5 day event..
They want a 4hr g.tee fix time. With ABS pipe needing 24 hrs curing time they will be sadly disappointed :oAttachment 9078Attachment 9079Attachment 9080
Ended up today at a customer with a freezer room gone soft(30k of kevlar). Copeland semi going out on it's klixon. (turns out they may have noticed it friday but didn't report it...;-)
Ended up shorting the klixon out and setting a hose pipe on the body to keep it cool.. Let it run for a couple of hours and the room was dropping slowly. Hopefully it will last long enough we can get back with a new condensing unit :-/
Traveled from Wigan to Windsor to pop a cassette condensate pipe back into it's pump after some ****head had dislocateded it. (we left site 3 months ago, nobody knows anything!!)
Then off to another Windsor job to measure up for external pipework covers, to find some kitchen fitter had already done it with some formica..
What I really need is a subbie in Windsor / Newbury. All our work is there recently.

Stuck all afternoon early evening at Force India. EJ and PDR doing a piece for the BBCAttachment 9090

Put two packs on vac last night in pissing down rain and pitch black. Came in in morning expecting a good torr on system. No torr!!!!!!!!!!!. Forgot to open main suction valves on ringmain. WHAT A PRICK,
Stayed in bed until the afternoon after a late one! :)
Had another main contractor go bust on me  No indication, previously a good payer, BANG!!!! Gone.
"Sorry mate, your not going to get paid" This one has been up and running since 1974.
Eggs
Aouch,
Always hurts.
Hope you will be OK.
Put new brushes on my LT alternator, Added a bit of R22 to old Carrier, was leaking through the schraders. slow day.
Woke up late, went down shop, got beer and naan bread, made curry, ate curry and drunk beer :D

I had a fun day holding a Garden hose melting ice out of Multi Deck Produce Cases. But in doing so I unlocked the mystery of how Case Manufactures design " High Efficiency" cases. They use Very tight Fin Spacing on the Evap and when the coil freezes over, it stops removing BTU's...:D
Went debt collecting. It's amazing how quickly the to$$ers pay up when you arrive in their reception demanding money, looking a little menacing
Suckers think you will actuall miss their non-paying business
On a lighter note, won another job in Newbury!!! what is it with this place?? I'm sick of going there.
Eggs
eggs- sub it to monkeyspanners or rb- saves going down yonder!
got some of that to do soon,but today finished off compressor swap 6hp maneurop,swapped it from r22 to 404a all good but man was it hot today ,helped an old mate with setting up an eliwell then checked over a van unit ;;hubbard;;
Went to site today to fit a new compressor, only to find the wrong one has been supplied.
Sent Shift and Lift guys on their way, then spent 2 hours on the phone trying to sorce the correct compressor.
Nearly 7.00pm now and still waiting for return calls.
The hardest part was trying to explain to the store Manager that he'll have another few days of emptying and restocking fridges as the outside temp rises and falls because the pack is down a third on capacity and can't cope.
Well, it started off ok but one mile up the road the charging light came on in my van and the power steering went. I came back home to find smoke wafting from the alternator. I`d only replaced it six months ago but do you think I can find the reciept/gaurantee?.....no way. I`ve got reciepts for boxes of screws ect for £2 dating back four years but one for £140 six months back? not a chance. The alternator`s been replaced so the job I was going to do will just about cover it grrrrrrrrrrrr.
On Call this weekend. Had a Call this A.M. about 1 hour away.....Got on site and realized I left my tool bag in my garage.
Spent all day in the canoe park getting well paid to tan :-)
Final day at the canoe park and we won a gold and silver.. The place was rocking!

The centre manager on the first day said "I like seeing you doing nothing as it means there is nothing wrong" So taking full advantage, We wandered around the inner ring on day 1&2 then was told to go help fill the accreditation seats for the rest of the event so had the best seats in the house:D.
The Centre got voted venue of the games by a BBC poll so site management were overjoyed to say the least....
All good and our part went off without a single hitch and we watched every session after being fed and watered.
Sitting up all night watching NZ get a couple of Golds in rowing. Now knackered on saturday
Weekend off call , ready for the influx during the week , still done company tasks though , wash the hearse & sort + clean + components ,tools & mechanics. :p
I took off a Cap on a Oil line and found out there was no Schrader Core inside. Oil at 60 PSI makes a big mess...Oh well, the days done and now im having a Beer. CHEERS
5 psi makes a mess, 60 psi?.. bet you were covered from head to toe in oil and had to drive home in your undies:D
Hmmm, Having some trouble with a walk in freezer room. Compressor change went fine. Customer now says there was sparks coming out of evaporator Before i started this job.... Today's inspection revealed nothing out of the ordinary, so now waiting for that problem to show itself  And No!! Compressor was definitely cactus.....maybe the shop owner was under the influence of a specific mushroom.
