I have fitted a mitsubishi heavy industries SRK 40-HG has been working fine however it will not switch onto the heat mode.

check pressures low pressure is around 1.7 to 20bar when the comp running, and in the heat mode the 3/8 pipe work is getting very hot however the the blower unit will not blow air out warm air if i switch it to cool mode then the blower unit blows perfect nice and cool canyone please help
thanks

What is the pressure then? 1.7 to 2.0 ? And what refrigirant?

In heating mode the fan will not start until the coil get warm enough (mitsu=40 degrees C IIRC).
As you state that the pipes are getting warm and you have seen a pressure reading of 20bar (but I suspect you connected the gauge line to the valve on the outdoor unit, if so, when the unit is in heating you are looking at a discharge pressure, not suction), I suspect the system doesn't read the correct coil temp.

I recommend that you check the resistance of the coil thermistor and that the thermistor is located where it belong.

1- When it's running, what's the temperature of the larger pipe between the units?
2-When it's running, what's the temperature of the smaller pipe between the units?
3- Assuming that the answer to q1 is >50 degrees C, what is the resistance of the coil thermistor?

ran the system up on heat mode and checked on the outdoor unit on union and have 15 bar pressure the pipe temp is around 50c however havent broken into the unit yet as i have only had this unit 4 months so dont no if it will void the warrenty tried to find out what pressure i should have but have no info and tried to test the high pressure side and the is no test point should the low pressure side have higher pressure than 15 bar???? could this be as simple as SOG??
thanks for you helpvery new to this iam car mechanic do air con on the cars but the spilt system on house easier to install but when they go wrong help

OK,
50 Degrees C on the pipe and the indoor fan doesn't start?

Time to call in a professional.

The fault is in the controls but if you aren't used to trouble shooting A/C controls then it's better left to someone who is.

some people say its just short of gas on this site why ???

Because you said you had a reading of 1.5 - 2.0 bar. With 410A this will give you an evaporating temp of between -25 to -30°c, which would make a nice deep freezer.

right i see best i give hrp a phone on monday and see if they will exchange the indoor unit for another

I doubt very much if they will change it as part of their warranty requirement is that the unit is installed and commissioned by a competant person, from your comments it would appear as though you may not meet the criteria. I suggest you call in somebody who knows what they are doing before you contact HRP.

PS. why do we need control on the people allowed to buy and install kit???

Hopefully you havn't been using your car gauges on it as the pag oil in them may cause all sorts of nasties....
